There's supposed to be an update to Downcast coming that will address the recent crashing. I'm partial to Downcast as it is highly customizable and is pretty comprehensive. Overcast is good, but it doesn't have as many features as Downcast, but depending on what you're looking for, it may be enough. Overcast is a very solid choice. I simply prefer what Downcast offers. Icatcher was an app that I also used when I first started getting into podcasts with iOS and while it too is fully Voiceover accessible, the one killer for me was that it maxed out at 2X playback speed. The dev said that he had no interest in going beyond that.
