Hello Gary, After reading your post, I tested visual voicemail with iOS 11.03, complete with text transcription, on an iPhone 6 S Plus, and did not have any trouble getting back to my voicemail Inbox or to any other area of the phone. Yes, I am using VoiceOver.
What I did find, however, is that, unlike in previous versions of iOS, when a voicemail item is played, it expands and takes up a great deal of the screen. VoiceOver swiping gestures can prove to be ineffective until the user collapses the currently selected voicemail item. So, when you are done listening to the voicemail message, simply single-finger, double-tap on any non-button area of the display in order to collapse the item and return to your normal voicemail Inbox. It may be, however, that the behavior you are experiencing is limited to the 7 series. I just don't know but give my suggestion a try and see how it works for you. Every time we get a voicemail, we can play the voicemail, but after that the phone locks up. We can push the home button to go to the home screen and even though the home screen is visible the focus is still in voicemail. Voiceover keeps trying to read the text version of the voicemail. We have to shut the phone down in order to clear things and be able to use the phone again. We talked with Apple accessibility and they recommended resetting all settings. They said if anyone else is having a problem with voicemail to let them know. Just curious is anyone on the list having the problem or something similar, and if so what did you do about it? Thanks for any feedback on this. Nancy and Gary Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
