it certainly did it in this case even though I was prompted to update on
several cases. In all of those cases I said later even using the hardware
keyboard to insure against mistakes. This occured with a 6plus.

The only way this wil happen in my experience is if when the alert pops up
that a new version of IOS is avalable is if you double tap later and double
tap agree to the terms of service it will after ou enter in your passcode
update at night between 2-4 A.M. Otherwise IOS does not update on it's own
ever. I'm still running 10.3.3 and I have 11.0.3 avalable on my phone and
have not updated yet.
