Using Spotlight search will find the app, but I can’t find any way to know on which home screen or in which folder it is. Just start with your main home screen at the top left and wipe through all apps, if you encounter a folder open it and check it out and you should find it. Dobn’t forget that folders can have multiple pages, if you have more than 9 apps in a folder anything beyond 9 will be on page 2.

Don't do it from the status bar. That will bring up notification center. So place your focus on maybe the first app on your home screen.
