I’m sure it’s called iPhone X because it’s the 10th anniversary phone, but I am also 99% certain Apple won’t release another iPhone 10 in two years since this just wouldn’t make sense. But of course nobody knows so let’s just wait and see.

However, I can tell you that, at this point, I am leaning towards iPHone 8 Plus if for no other reason but that I prefer the triple-click button to be in a more neutral location on the phone than is currently the case on iPHone X. If there were no iPHone 8 series, I would most likely purchase iPhone X and learn to live with it; however, currently I have a choice and for this I am grateful. What I hope is that, someday, Apple, along with all the other hardware manufacturers, will allow user-defined hardware button assignments. For example, iPHone 11 would have 4 hardware buttons, 2 on each side and the user could determine which is for volume up, Siri, Screen Lock, etc. Per chance to dream, eh?
