I think this is very much a personal thing, but my opinion is definitely the 8 Plus has better sound. I have a moderate hearing loss. The iPad I thought would help, but the added speaker on the 8 Plus blows my iPad for sound right out of the water. This is the first phone I have been so happy with since I got my 4S. I thought iPhone 6 Plus and 7 Plus would be too big, but when I upgraded this year I thought I would try the bigger phone. Took some getting used to with my tiny hands, but as I said, this one will probably go through my 18-month lease. It is that good. Remember, this is my opinion, and I am certain the 8 is just a wonderful phone, but for my hearing loss with tinnitus, the sound is great!
