I also have the Edge and agree with Keith, it is very responsive when switching to the Apple Watch to read something when the watch becomes active and then back to the iPhone. If that doesn't work just as good with the Airpods it is one more reason for me to continue to hold out until Apple comes out with the second generation which maybe has a W2 chip and works better. As this is an Apple product and I am using it with two Apple products (iPhone and Apple watch) I would actually expect it to work better than headsets or earpieces from Plantronics, Jabra or whatever other third party company.
