The best story game I've ever found remains King of Dragon Pass. It has incredible replay value and deep meaningful choices. You may also want to check out some of the Choice Of games. There are loads of them. A Study in Steampunk won some game awards. A couple more to check out would be Paladins and Heart of the House. Other than that, there's the Frotz app which lets you play all sorts of interactive fiction. Hope that gets you started.
