Ok, I have some more to report about Dish. I have been working with them all
afternoon on several issues and I will try and outline them in this message.

First issue:

When I called Dish last Saturday to ask them about the service I asked the
representative if I would be able to have the text to speech feature in our
bedroom and my office as well as having it in the living room. He told me that
I would and that was the main reason why I decided to make the switch from
DirectTV at this time.

Well after spending more than an hour and a half in a chat session with another
representative trying to enable this feature I finally gave up and decided to
wait until we had some sighted help which happened shortly there after.

Our friends did not see any accessibility option on the bedroom tv so I then
called Dish and inquired again about this feature. Are you ready for this? Yes
that is right. It is not possible to have text to speech on one of the tvs
connected with a Joey, only on the Hopper in the living room.

It was at this point that I kind of raised my voice and expressed my extreme
displeasure with basically be lead to believe that we would have this
capability with Dish.

I was then transferred over to an account resolutions specialist(I just love
these bogus titles) He then confirmed to me that this feature is not currently
possible.

I then told him that I was going to go back over to DirectTv because I was very
very unhappy with Dish at this point.

Second Issue:

I then asked him about Audio Description. I told him that I have enabled it on
the Hopper but that we have yet received any Audio Description with programs
that I know have a descriptive track.

He was going to transfer me over to tech support but I told him that this
wouldn’t work right now because I did not know if there were currently any
shows on that have description. I told him that tonight when I know that there
is a show on with description that I would enable the feature and if I still do
not get the description that I would call back so that we could troubleshoot
this.

Final Issue:

I then told him about the inadequate accessibility of the Dish Anywhere app.
More specifically I explained how when viewing the guide in the app the channel
numbers are shown but not the name of the channel or what is currently on a
particular channel.

I told him the way that this information should be displayed is with the
channel number followed by the name of the network and finally with the name of
the current program.

He did write everything down and submit it ti the team working on the app.

Conclusion:

I am pretty sure that I am going to go back to DirectTv because the audio
description was not an issue with them. It was a very big mistake for me to
switch to Dish.

Does anyone on the list who uses Dish have any luck with get audio description?
I would love to know if it is everyone with Dish that does not get description
or if it is just me or my area.

Thank You for reading this and I hope that everyone has a great evening.
