Thanks to all who answered my question. I updated my iPod touch six Friday night, and my iPhone 5s yesterday. Things have gone pretty well. The few things that have taken me by surprise, I have just rolled with, and so far I am managing, so, it could be worse, and now I am glad to have access again to the app which prompted all this, which I really would have missed, be my eyes, which are use at least once a week. Thanks to all who gave me encouragement.
I went from 9.5 to 11.2.
