EyeNote was developed as part of the settlement of a lawsuit brought by the ACB
against the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. in 2008 a Federal court judge
ruled that the BEP must make U. S. currency identifiable by the blind. The
development of the EyeNote app, along with the development of a hardware
currency identifier were steps in the process of complying with this
settlement. If the EyeNote app is not available, or does not work under IOS 11,
this fact should be communicated to the ACB so they can notify the BEP and the
court that the terms of the settlement are not being followed.

OK, since folks are talking about EyeNote under the Seeing AI topic, I
thought I would attempt a new thread.
EyeNote is published by the Bureau of Engraving, a part of the US government.
It was only for US currency.
I had written them when it was first announced that some apps, including
EyeNote, would have to be updated to work with iOS 11. I never heard anything
from them.
NandtMobile Money Reader works with lots of currencies, is also free, so when
iOS 11 came out and EyeNote had not updated, I deleted it.
Frankly, the fact that it told you if it was the back or front of the bill
was just extra verbiage to me, so I really do not care whether it is available
or not.
All I know is it no longer is available in the app store. But, I do care that
threads be kept consistent with the subject line.
