Yes, I'd have to agree with you. It seems to be easier to navigate in
the youversion one, but the layout in the gateway version would really
be neat for someone who was sighted I think. Once I got used to the
menus in gateway, I'm starting to like it better though.
Glad you got it working, all the same.
Take it easy.

Thank you. Your description was very good from the first message. I
was able to navigate the way you said. And by the way, when a verse is
chosen, the app places you to it exactly. But I think this type of
navigation is not very fast and intuitive. The youversion app allows
faster navigation.

It would seem my description was a little off on this, so wanted to
clarify how this area is supposed to look. This should make it easier
to navigate the books area. From left to right here, you've got the
list of books, the chapter number and the verse. When you first
navigate to this area to pick one, the lists only go up to about half
way up the screen. So, pick a book and double tap, move over a bit to
the right and pick a chapter and do the same. Finally, move a bit
more and pick the verse. You should notice the listings going all the
way up the screen as you scroll, so you can pick more than I'd
originally thought. Anyways, once you've chosen something to read
here, double tapping the begin button at the top right will land you
where you want to go.

Hello. From what I can tell, changing to a specific verse is
difficult here. In the selection area for the book you wish to read,
once you've scrolled down to the name of the book, you should also
see some numbers down in the bottom right part of the screen. These,
seem to be for the chapter and verse of that chapter, you want to
jump to. These are the steps I had to take, for example, to get the
the book of Matthew, chapter three. Once your in the selection for
books, scroll down to matthew and double tap. Move your finger down
to the bottom right and you'll notice two small vertical listings of
numbers. the first one, on the left hand side is for the chapter, so
move your finger down this listing to 3 and double tap it. After
that, double tapping the begin button close to the top right will
throw you to that chapter of the book. I'd also assume you could
select your verse from here as well, but I don't know it it would
land you right on the verse, or if you'd still have to scroll down
to it. One last thing worth pointing out. These vertical lists of
numbers are pretty small, so only enough room for 4 or so chapters
and verses at a time. If you want to go higher in chapters or
verses, you need to scroll those lists upwards. You can do this by
doing a double tap and hold on the area you want to scroll, and
sliding your finger up a little.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hello,
I have downloaded the Bible Gateway app but have problems changing the
chapters and verse in the selected book. Nothing happens when I do
a double
or triple tap on the chapter and verse numbers right of the book.
It always
starts displaying from chapter 1, verse 1. Can you help?
