In the meantime somebody else posted a link to an article where they go evenb a step further. After draining the battery to where the phone shuts off they let the phone sit over night to make sure even the last little bit of charge is drained. Then they plug it in and charge it for 2 hours after it reaches 100% and they recommend to even charge it with the phone powered off. Then they repeat as I said in my email.
