Hello no they do not have to be in your contacts to block them. If you go to recents after going into phone to list your most recent calls, you would flick to the number that you want to block. Flick to the right to more info. If you start from the bottom and flick left the first option should be block this caller. Once you double tap on block caller a message comes up letting you know that you will not receive calls from blocked callers. Then you will need to flick right to block caller or cancel.
