With an iPHONE10, you'd have to look at your phone to use the face id security system. I don't have one but I understand that during the purchase process when you need to verify that you're the one making the purchase or downloading an app, it uses your face rather than a password or touch. I think you should still be able to use the password and Apple ID if necessary. Have you looked at the iTunes and App Store settings in the settings app on the home screen? All of the personal settings are in an area near the top right after the search field. Just double-tap on your name to get into that area and you should find all the settings for accounts, passwords and such. Hope that helps.
