The Google Home speakers including the Mini are similar to the Amazon Echo speakers. They are stand-alone devices and you can ask them for various information, set timers and so on. There are companion apps for both, but more used for Settings and so on. You can give the Amazon Echo access to your contacts and ask it to make a call and also ask it to call such and such number by speaking the number. For the Echo this works for ccalls in North America. I assume you can make calls using the Google speakers as well, but for the most part they have not too much to do with your iPhone and won't change in any way how SIRI works.
