TTom f you haven't looked already, go back to the post in notifications, the comments, and see if where you hit on hide it now says I don't know what. Tap on it again and maybe it will unhide everything. There is a great blind iPhone users group VIPHONE. I believe it's a Google group. People are good at helping others with any problems from basic to pretty sophisticated.
