I just tried to reproduce this and it does seem at times the editing mode closes, but if you typed only part of the folder name you want, just go to the first app in the folder, swipe down and double tap to start editing mode again, swipe left back to the folder name, double tap and you are back in the folder name edit field with your cursor at the end where you stopped, then just add on to it.

I seem to be having a problem, with renaming folders. when i manage to get the text field open, and deleted the folder name, that the phone decides to automaticly give it, and start to type in the new name, it times me out, and closes the folder. I have tried resetting my phone, in all the various ways, and i still get this issue. I use standard typing mode, using the onscreen keyboard. If this isn’t a fault, then it makes no sense, as the text field should stay open, untill you tap the done button, as it was in previous versions.
