I have an unlocked iPhone 6S Plus and if I put a SIM from another provider in it the phone just works, e.g. if I were in the US and put your friend’s AT&T or your T-Mobile SIM into my phone it would simply say that I am on the AT&T or T-Mobil network at the top left and I could make a call or do whatever. The thing is that if you bought the phone from T-Mobile on contract even if it were unlocked you couldn’t just leave T-Mobile without paying off your contract. I put a friend’s SIM card in to my phone. It came up with the message to activate the phone. So does this mean it’s already unlocked? Just to refresh everyone’s memory, I have T-Mobile.
