bill, I am fairly new to the iphone world. While I understand it is
possible to have iphone function as a braille keyboard, I am not aware of
any ap that would produce braille on your iphone screen. Am wondering if
your friend has any braille notetakers such as braille sense, braille note
apex, or possibly others. I ask because I have recently discovered how
these devices can be interfaced, via bluetooth, to iphone.

the cost is ridiculously prohibitive. I’m posting to this list to ask if
anyone can offer a configuration where the iPhone - using a Braille
display — might not offer the same functionality?
Specifically, are there apps that can read the contents of a note or some
other iOS document and present it converted into Braille via a display.
I must admit, I am Braille illiterate as I lost my sight at age 41 and haven’t
been able to acclimate to Braille. I suspect that my fingertips were burned
badly enough handling heated engine components when I could see that I haven’t
the sensibility in my fingers. So, when it comes to Braille I’m indeed
quite ignorant!
