Well, I closed the app out of the app switcher, relaunched photos, and there is that select button, I am very grateful for this response and for this new information regarding sending photos. This really helps a lot. Thanks.

As soon as you double tap on a photo so that the photo is displayed larger you do have options to share, delete etc., but in order to select multiple photos do the following: 1. Now double tap all the photos you want to send by email, Voiceover will say "selected" each time you do this and if you check near the top it will tell you how many photos are selected 4. There was once a way, that no longer seems to work, that I found quite handy to attach a photo, or rather several photos, to an email. I would open the photos app, and open one photo that I wanted to attach to an outgoing message. Then, I would tap the Share button. By doing so, I could select more than one photo simply by double tapping it. So now, when I perform these steps, the second I tap that second photo, the iPhone with Voiceover becomes completely silent and locked up, so that I cannot activate the Message or Mail buttons in order to send the photo. The phone becomes completely unresponsive. I do realize that this may be an unorthodox way to attach photos to a mail message. This used to work really really well, but now, I apparently need to use the alternative method of going into the mail app, choosing Edit, Insert Photo, then Choose, and so on, but with this method, you may only attach one photo at a time, so that it is more time consuming than the prior method. I have tried this both on an iPhone 7 and an 8 Plus, with the latest updates. Anyone else notice this strange and unwelcome change?.
