Hi Arlene, There are several new gestures that perform functions that were performed with the Home button on previous phones. Some functions are taken over by the side button. There are AppleVis podcasts that explain the differences. I'm pretty sure David Woodbridge did some on his iSee podcast as well, and Jonathan Mosen demonstrates them on his Blind Side podcast.
