Hi. I've used both Uber and Lyft. Lyft seems to be cheaper over time and does not have as many surge pricing times as Uber does, where the price is raised due to high demand of other riders. If you have promos or discounts on your Lyft account, the price you see is the before discounted price. For instance, if I have a 50% discount on my account, and I see an $8 price, then that is the before discount price and my actual price would be $4. Prices tend to fluctuate a little, but that is how Lyft is supposed to work I believe. For Uber, the price you see is the after discount price, so in the prior example I would see the $4 price before making my trip request. I haven't gotten a discount from either Uber or Lyft in quite a while. There was a time when I got discounts once a week from one or both services. I think discounts you get depend on how much you use their services.
