Chris, this is great news concerning to eventually have the paid version.. For scanning it does well. Ever since Richard's message we've been scanning so many things here in the house. Some of the things we scanned, was the display screen on the xm radio, on the tv the dish display screen, scanned some postal mail, scanned the screen from one of our iphone se, scanned the display screen of our at&t flip phone, scanned the screen of 2 of our older phones the t-199 a bar phone and the gusto 3 which is a flip phone, also scanned the microwave screen and was able to read some items from it, also reading some food labels on frozen dinners and soup can labels. It was interesting with scanning the display screens on the phones I mentioned it actually read some things. Hopefully the location part is better on the paid version. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cris Ali To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2018 4:10 PM Subject: RE: Eye-d, a free orientation app
The Eye-D first came for the android OS. It came with the free version and the paid pro version. As far as I know, what we have for the iOS is only the free light version, and in the near future they will release the paid-pro version for the iOS. which has many more features. Do not forget to share images with Eye-D Vision! Please use the contact us feature to share your feedback/ suggestions. We will look forward to hear from you :) I was told about this app from someone who seems to think it will replace BlindSquare. I don't think so. While it is free and does some similar things and has some features like Seeing AI, you cannot search for a specific address or business, you have to pick from their list of Points Of Interest and their list is somewhat limited. I checked under its store/supermarkets category, and while it found a lot of ones in the radius allowed, it missed two Safeway stores and a Fred Meyer. The one Safeway store is much closer than several of the ones it found. Its picture descriptions are OK, and I have not tried its text recognition as yet. Once you pick a point of interest, it will open Google Maps to get turn-by-turn directions. Here is the app store link: Eye-D by GingerMind Technologies Pvt.
