At this point doing this is a waste of money. I have the 6S Plus and it's a great phone. I'm sure the 8 Plus is also a very nice phone, but given that we are almost at the end of April and in just over 4 months the new 2018 iPhones come out upgrading now will only be expensive and you may have buyer's remorse in September. Unless there is a major issue with your 6S Plus it will serve you well for these few months and if your battery is starting to be an issue just spend the $29 and set up an appointment at an Apple store to have it replaced, you probably get that $29 back if you resell it in the fall and can proof the phone had a new battery done by Apple just a few months ago.
