There is a Google Voice app and while I don't want to discourage people who use it from replying, The below article from ZD Net might give you a good overview:

There are also a number of other articles on Applevis regarding Google Voice, Hang Outs and other related topics. Just go to Applevis.com and search for “Google Voice”. Applevis searches are very easy and the search results are listed in categories, e.g. app reviews, podcasts etc. Since it is a free app I would read some of these articles and just give it a shot.
