The storage size depends all about how much music you plan to put on the phone and how many pictures and videos you take. I have a 64Gb 6S Plus and only use about a third. That is with about 80 apps installed and usually a bunch of Audible books downloaded to the device. I also have currently about 400 pictures and a few dozen videos of various length on it. I would never buy a 256Gb phone, but I use Apple Music so if I want music I usually stream it since I also have a 6Gb data plan and in any case, unless I am travelling I am almost always on WiFi at home as well as at my retail store. Just out of curiocity, which phone do you have now? Keep in mind that you will get better deals in 3 or 4 month just before and definitely after the new phones come out. If your current phone is not working any more and you absolutely can’t wait then of course you have to get a phone, but if you have a 6 or even 6S then getting an 8 or 8 Plus now to me at least makes little sense. If you have a functioning phone and are out of contract I’d get AT&T to unlock it and switch to an MVNO on their network and use the phone for a while longer paying less.
Regards, Sieghard From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Bill Outman Sent: Saturday, May 5, 2018 1:19 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Upgrading to 8 Plus; a couple questions Good morning. Later this morning I will be going to A. T. & T. to get my new iPhone. I think I’ve decided on the 8 Plus, as it gives me better battery and sound than the 8, although screen size doesn’t matter to me as a total. The X seems too pricy, and I’m not ready to lose the home button. Is there any good justification for going with the 256 memory capacity instead of the standard 64? Those are the only two choices offered, and of course the greater memory would cost extra. I will probably purchase a case separately and look for a better price than I was offered. When I investigated phones at the store two weeks ago, I was shown an Otterbox Defender and Lifeproof models for the 8Plus, the latter costs more. What are their relative merits?
