So IOS 11.4 should be hitting devices in the upcoming days and I wanted
to bring something to your attention I read. We will have USB lock down
mode. The way it works is after seven days of your phone not being
unlocked or used the lightening port will lock down and can only be used
for charging. So this means if your phone is stolen someone can't use it
to try to erase and take the phone over for themselves. This also means
that you wont be able to do it either if you happen to forget the pass
code to get into it. I recently had a buddy who had forgotten a pin for
an old iPhone SE that he wanted to set up for his son. But he was able
to plug it into and use iTunes to get back in. So make sure you are
really careful about your pins especially with phones you put away for a
while and don't plan to use.
