Carolyn, I found this on your Windstream's web site . Have this information available when you go to set up your Email on your iPhone.
You will start under Settings, Accounts and Passwords. What server settings do I use for Windstream email? If your email app or client didn’t set up the servers automatically after you provided your email address, you will need to manually enter the incoming (IMAP or POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail servers. IMAP is recommended for the incoming. Incoming servers: imap.windstream.net<http://imap.windstream.net> port: (SSL) 993 port:143 Outgoing servers: smtp.windstream.net<http://smtp.windstream.net> port: (SSL) 465 Both the incoming and outgoing servers will need to verify your full email address and password to work correctly so be sure you enable authentication on the outgoing server as well. Description of servers IMAP (Internet Messaging Access Protocol) – Messages are kept on the Windstream server. All devices using IMAP will look the same; if a message is deleted, or a folder is created on any one device, or our webmail, that change will immediately reflect on all devices. This is the preferred incoming server type, especially if multiple devices check the same email address. SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) – The outgoing mail server.
