I too have been following this talk of keyboards with interest. I still love my Microsoft Universal Mobile keyboard. I got it a few years ago and it has served me very well. I think you can get a folding one that's a bit like the one I have but I don't know if my specific one is still available. It has a small button on the side of the keyboard for turning the power on or off. I would have prefered a switch in a place less easy to bump which has at times turned off my keyboard. You can close the keyboard lid and it'll go into a standby mode. It wakes up automatically if you open the lid provided that you haven't turned the keyboard fully off via the side button.
There's a mechanical keyboard on Kickstarter from Hexgears called the X1 that I've decided to back. I've never had a mechanical keyboard but I constantly hear about how nice they are to use. I can control up to four devices with it and it's possible to disable the colourful backlighting which sighted people seems to like on their keyboards. Once that's done, the battery will last for three months and there's an actual switch to tell whether the keyboard is on or off. I like that. I chose linear switches which are supposed to be the quietest. However, there are more noisy clicky options if people want. The keyboard isn't programmable so you can't change anything they haven't included a command for or change which keys do what.
