Hi
Sieghard

yes it's the apple watch 4 i'm interested as as you say if you can afford it
it's best to go for the latest model. I have the iphone se which works
perfectly so certainly won't be changing it this year. I only change my phone
when it's reached it's last update.

Thanks

Linda

  Hi Linda,

I use my watch for swimming all the time and while I haven’t set an alarm I
am almost certain the alarm would sound.

One thing I would, however, srongly advise is that you not get an Apple Watch
in the next 3 or so weeks since most likely in 3 weeks (the week of September
10) Apple will have their big event and while a new Apple Watch was released
last year, it seems the rumours are that another new watch is expected this
year. My wife and I both have the second generation Apple Watches (before last
year’s model) and we are both not so happy with how responsive they are.
Apparently the third generation watch is much better, but it is of course to be
expected that if a fourth generation watch will be released that it has an even
faster processor and other improvements. I also would say that unless you
absolutely can’t afford the higher price of whatever is the top model you need
to buy the newest model. I for one don’t feel it is reasonable to expect people
should upgrade their watch every year or two although if this year’s model has
some really cool improvements I might be very tempted especially since both my
wife and I had the batteries of our 6S and 6S Plus replaced this year, the
phones are working great and we are not upgrading our phones for at least
another year. We’ll see, it all depends on what we can get for our old second
gen watches if we sell them and so on, but to buy an Apple Watch now with a new
one possibly weeks away is not a good idea. If anything last year’s watch can
probably be had at a bit of a discount once the new model comes out.

  Regards,

  Sieghard

  Hi All

i'm thinking of getting an apple watch and was wondering if seeing as the
speech would be disabled when the watch was in swimming mode if you set an
alarm or timer would you get an audible alert. Sometimes I have only a certain
amount of time that I can spend in the pool so was looking for a way to know
when my alotted time was up rather than having to ask someone what the time was.

  Thanks

  Linda
