Man. $40 for a SE… I don’t know the particular circumstances as to why you
couldn’t use them or if they were at all usable beyond the actual phone
function, but people use old iPhones for all sorts of reasons that don’t have
anything to do with the phone.

An extra streaming device, dedicated audiobook player, a simple back up or a
more popular one . . . turn it into a security camera or baby/nanny cam.

I’m planning on upgrading from my SE to either whatever Apple’s got coming out
this year or maybe one of last year’s models if I’m not convinced. I’m
therefore going to likely bump my current SE to my second business cell and use
the old 5S that I’m using right now for that second line as a dedicated
security camera. The touch ID doesn’t work. The volume up button also stopped
working and the scanning featre for whatever reason doesn’t work, but
otherwise, it works well. Considering that certain aspects no longer function
and it would be either too expensive to get it fixed and what can a 5S get you
online at this point? I’ll just download one of those security cam apps and set
it up by either my front or back door. Still not sure yet.

Anyway, it’s always good to get something back for a device, but repurposing an
older iPhone for something else is also good

Subject: Eco ATM and recycling iPhones

Hello everyone,

As some of you might remember, I had 2 older iPhone SE’s, which neither could
be used as a phone. I was really at a loss as to what to do with them.

Well yesterday, a friend told me about Eco ATM. Now I am not sure if I am
writing the name out properly. But I am sure you can Google it, if you would
like to know more. That is how you can also find out if there is 1 close to you.

It’s basically an automated system, where you put your phone in, follow the
steps, and your phone will be recycled. You might even get a little cash back
for it. You do have to show ID.

For both those phones, I received 40 dollars, all together. That’s not much.
But for me, it wasn’t really about the money. It was more about getting them
recycled, and out of my drawer.

So if you have any older cell phones no longer working, this is just an
alternative for you all to be aware of.

I hope someone here might find this as helpful as I did.

Thank you,

Terri
