Sounds as though there is a delay in the info being displayed. When the info is displayed you have the option to view all reactions, which of your friends liked the post, which friends replied to each of the other reactions; like, HaaHaa, wow, sad etc. A list of those who commented will also be displayed giving you the option to send a person a message using Facebook messenger.
