I do not believe there is a way to have VoiceOver read your latest text message automatically outside of using notifications, and that does not always read the entire message. You can ask Siri to read your latest text message. But, since conversations are listed with the oldest message at the top and the newest message on the bottom, you either have to use gestures in the app or Siri. HTH, Richard
