Hi, I've never encountered this before, but since updating my iPhone 7 to iOS 12, I have been sitting in a favorite restaurant several times, and soon after arriving getting message on my phone that the restaurants 5G network can be joined by clicking.
At first, I was suspicious and didn't click. They had never previously had any Guest network and now a 5G network was trying to get me to click on it and join. The next time I was there, the same thing happened, so I asked staff about it. They looked at the screen and said it looked like it was theirs, and they knew there was a newly installed Guest network, as well as several secure networks for the business, all of which were listed when he looked at the available networks. Clicking on it this time, it seemed to work fine for an hour, then the same message was received as the first, presumably as the first go around had timed out. This is an unsecured network. At any rate, I have never previously had a network seek out my phone for activation. Is this something new to iOS 12, or could it be a feature of their network? Any insights appreciated.
