I deleted the Podcasts app a week ago because, unknown to me, it had kept
all the downloads of a particular podcast for the last two years (which
amounted to 15 Gb of data)! In my investigations however, I hadn't found a
easy way to delete a full podcast. (Deleting individual shows in that event
sure would've been time-consuming.) I like Overcast; but my favourite
podcatching app is called RSsRadio, which has even more features than
Overcast and is very accessible. (It's now - as of iOS12.xx - at version 7).

Hi Judy,
To delete a podcast from the podcast app go to your library tab and find the
shows button. Double tap on that and flick until you hear edit. Double tap.
Then find the podcast you want to delete and swipe up until you hear remove.
If there is a confirmation double tap on delete. Then go to the done button
at the top of the screen and double tap it.

that I really tried to use the native Podcast app, but I gave up some
time earlier this year and went back to Overcast where everything works

is not so much what one can say about the Apple Podcast app.
I generally speaking feel that if Apple has an app which works really
well for something then I'll use it. The Mail app is one example, I
think it's well designed and works great and I don't see a reason to use
the iOS Outlook app, butwhen it comes to Podcasts Apple just doesn't
seem to get it.
