It did happen to me once a few years ago. As I recall, I took the sim out, powered phone off, put a friend’s sim in, powered it back on and it recognised the sim - so I knew the phone was ok. So I took that sim out, turned the phone off, put my original sim back in - and it was recognised. No idea why the problem appeared but at least it worked. Fingers crossed! Harry
