Thanks Anna, all was set as it should be. However whilst fiddling around I got stereo sound. One of the cords is faulty. Problem is I can’t find out if it is the Apple cord or mine! I don’t have a spare of either to try. I will now consider plan B. I write this incase it helps somebody else. Max.
