Hi Richard,

Would you please post / share your website, if you don't mind? Thanks much.
Take care. Go Rams!
Sent from my iBarstool.
I type out everything I want to remember. That way instead of spending a lot
of time trying to remember what it was, I spend the time looking for where I
saved it!

hi Bill,
Yes, you have to add it again.
I'm glad you found some helpful info on my web site.

That is sort of what I thought, but I thought text selection should be in

Is it not there by default, and do I have to go back and add it again?

By the way, Richard, I looked at your site and picked up a few good tips.
I like the info on bar codes with Seeing AI, a channel I’ve been having
trouble with as a total. There are some tips on the iNote currency reader
which I have that I need to look at again. I also down loaded Chess-Wise 3,
one of the chess games you recommend there. Somewhaere in my apartment I
believe I still have a couple adapted physical chess sets as well. I have
some memory of how to play even though it’s been a long time.

First, go into the rotor settings and make sure that text selection is
selected.

If you want to first select a letter, a word, a line, a page, or all, turn
the rotor to words or lines, and flick up with one finger to go back knowing
that the cursor will be at the beginning of whatever you hear.

Then, turn to text selection, and flick up or down to the amount you want
to select by, and flick right to select.

Then, turn to edit, and flick up or down to the action, cut, copy, etc.

The iOS 12 manual can be downloaded in Books.

I know this sounds silly for having an iPhone for almost five years now,
but I seem to have forgotten a lot about editing text with it.

I was working with an old item in Notes that I wanted to update, and had
a lot of trouble, having only occasional and accidental success.

I can’t seem to determine consistently my insertion point, and only seem
to be able to delete charactersand select one word at a time, sometimes
accidentally. I can get the word cut and seem to be able to unselect it.
The text editing and edit menu seemed to be buried together in the rotor;
they used to be two separate items. I seem to be having trouble remembering
all the gestures I need to do all the cut copy, paste, and select commands.

By the way, where is the iOS user guide? I’m using iOS 12. Is it
somewhere already on the phone or do I need to down load it into Books?
