Hello Jed, As strange as it may seem, what you are experiencing is the default scenario when paring an Apple Watch to a phone.
It can take some getting used to, but the point of the watch is to extend, not duplicate the phone notifications. For example, I have my watch set to silent mode. So, when I receive a text message on my phone, there is no sound, at all on either the phone or my watch. However, the watch vibrates on my wrist. I think the thinking is that the watch will be closer to you, at any given time, than the phone. As for me, this is a wonderful scenario as, before I owned a watch, I would sometimes miss phone notifications as the phone might be upstairs while I was downstairs. Obviously I do not know your exact watch configuration but you will notice that when the watch is locked or powered off, your phone notifications sounds will play, as usual. So i just got a new apple watch. So far so good, i love it. However i am trying to figure out notifications. When i get a text message, my phone no nlonger tells me i get a text. I don’t hear the text sound on my phone. However i do on the apple watch. Any ideas? Thanks, Jed -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
