The maker of the Vario Ultra went out of business, so do not even think about one of those. As far as I'm aware, there are only two options really when it comes to braille note takers which is what Danny is talking about. The Polaris from HIMS, who also make the Braille Edge; and the Braillenote Touch. They are both based on Android. The polaris has, in my opinion, a better overall interface, but I'd say anyone considering a braille note taker today needs to find a way to get some hands-on time with each unit. They also need to have a good bank account as you are talking around 5500 dollars. O, and none of them will tell you which cell you are on in a line. You'll have to simply count, though most of them have an indicator every 5 cells. There is the El Braille I guess, but I've not seen that one. HTH, Richard
