Also, if you can find the program, such as using the search option, when
you play, it'll automatically resume playing where you last stopped. To
make sure I can always find something I've been watching or would like
to watch, I add it to my list.

Open the app. Then use 3-finger swipe to get to page 7. At the bottom
of the page are the programs you have started watching. Tap on the one
you want. You should then see a resume button somewhere around the
middle of the screen.
Yours might not be on page 7, but I’m thinking your programs will
always be at the bottom of the last page.
