If you didn't get an answer on this one, if it is a new keyboard, the batteries might already be in it with a plastic tab sticking up that you need to remove for the batteries to connected and work.
If not, the batteries are right there under that lid that you slide off. There are two and when they are not there, there is a clear channel that they fit in.
