I don’t know if that is different here in Canada, but movies with audio descriptions on iTunes are few and far between. My wife and I often look and look to find something which has audio descriptions and there are all these new movies which come out and which seem not to have audio descriptions, one example is the newest Indiana Jones movie let alone all the old ones. The fact is that I know they are described since I used to have them on video tape back in the 90’s with descriptions. Netflix is probably the best when it comes to putting audio descriptions on new content although we were just looking at a movie called Wind River which shows up if I tap on movies and filter for audio described, but when I play it there are no descriptions and no option to turn them on. Just because a few movies come out with audio descriptions does not mean one can’t be critical and wonder why not every single movie or TV show that is produced has them, after all, everything has closed captioning and that has been so for a very long time.

Why can’t we all just be appreciative for the many improvements made for a very minority group? Lately all the movies I have purchased from Apple are described, all Netflix originals are described and Blind Mice Mega Mall has a large collection of sound tracks in MP3 format. In addition we have a plethora of audio books to enjoy.
