I realize that accessibility is so pervasive to us when using a device
that a wide latitude must be given when considering what is on and off
topic, but I always find it a head scratcher that just someone uses
Windows or a Mac to interact with their phone that so many topics
related to Windows and the Mac are now allowed on this high traffic
list. This thread has nothing to do with any app to watch DVD's on an
iPhone or even how to get DVD's onto an iPhone. There are other list
options to talk about the Mac and Windows and the software that runs on
those platforms.
I'm not a big fan of analogies, but I spend a lot of time using my
iPhone while sitting in a recliner in my living room. Does this mean I
can ask about particularly comfortable recliners on this list, ones with
flat arms where I can set my iPhone down but where the arms aren't so
tall that they don't interfere with my elbows when swiping and double
tapping on my iPhone? I just think this is a slippery slope that a high
traffic list like this doesn't want to go down.
I'm not aware of anyone being banned for off topic posts either, but I
though Jonathan's update on Aira, which most people on this list would
use their iPhone to access, was much more appropriate for this list then
talking about software on the Mac that has no direct relationship to an
iPhone. Either way, this isn't my list, and ultimately it's up to the
list owner and the moderator to determine where that line is.

Hello Brett,
I do not recall anyone ever being banned from this group for posting Mac, or
for that matter, Microsoft Windows, questions.
The relevance of the question is that I prefer to watch virtually all of my
video content on either my iPhone or Apple TV. At present, I need to rip
video from a DVD and I am seeking a Mac OS VoiceOver software solution by
which I may accomplish my goal.
For whatever reason, my Windows 7 DVD ripping software is not performing as
expected and I think I'll begin using my Mac for this purpose.
I apologize for not being more clear on why I posted this question to the
list.

Haven't others been banned for posting off topic messages? How is this on
topic.
Cheers,
Brett.

Hello Everyone,
I need to rip a DRM-free, home video from a DVD.
What is the name of a good, free if possible, VoiceOver accessible DVD
ripper for Mac OS?
I know there is one that many recommend but, for the life of me, I cannot
recall it's name.
Also, if you could tell me from where to download it, I would be most
grateful.
Thank you,
Mark
