Well, I guess Instant Pot really doesn’t want my business. When I just checked to see if I could order it from Amazon.com and have it shipped to Canada it wouldn’t let me and kept telling me the item could not be shipped to the address I selected. I did another search on Amazon Canada and it says the item is “currently unavailable”. Interestingly enough a listing for the old Instant Pot Smart Bluetooth came up, it shows as discontinued on Amazon.com and every time I came across it before on Amazon Canada there were usually just used ones for sale. Now there is a listing for a new one sold by Amazon for $187 Canadian which is about $145 US. It’s almost tempting, but then again the new one is of the newer generation and while the app may not be totally accessible right now that will hopefully get fixed and I also really like the idea of the upcoming google Home integration so I guess I’ll continue to wait and continue to write cynical messages to Instant Pot regarding not selling their own product in their own country. I should really get more into this Facebook thing and start posting those messages on their social media accounts since that may get their attention more. If there is a Facebook savvy Canadian on the list who maybe even uses Twitter feel free to do so!

Make sure you get the WIFI model because the buttons on the pot are raised and you can feel and identify them. I got one for Christmas and find that the app is not Voice Over friendly, I can’t set the pot’s cooking settings with the app. But I can set them with the buttons on the pot. The app sends notifications about what the pot is doing. I have a list of the buttons and what they do and other information that a reader and I put together.
