I'm a big RSS geek. I therefore use the Lire app in conjunction with The Old Reader RSS service. The Old Reader is web based so everything stays synched. Be it me checking the news on the PC or my iPhone. I have roughly 120 RSS feed subscriptions. A mixture of news, politics, entertainment, sports, finances, technology, shopping deals in both Spanish and English. For push notifications, I use the Breaking News app with news orgs like the Associated Press, Washington Post, New York Times, WSJ and so on Enabled. I tried Apple News for a bit, but it felt meh. I prefer RSS since I get to choose what stories to read instead of some all powerful algorithm curating news stories for me.
