Well, I have not found one better than Flicktype; though I don't use it that much because I too do not want a subscription. I use MBraille for input when not using a bluetooth keyboard. GBoard from Google has the period and at sign on the screen; but it also has a search box above the keyboard rather than the numbers row even though it says that is an option. Also, the settings do not speak with VoiceOver as to whether they are on or off. So I wouldn't recommend that one. You can try Flicktype for free and use it for somethings from within the app. Good luck, Richard PS: my bluetooth keyboard is not foldable, it is the Logitech k480.
