Hi Jen,

Having Heart Rate as a complication shouldn't cause a problem. It doesn't mean 
your heart rate gets measured more often; it just means it's easy to start 
measuring when you want to, by opening the complication.

Having Workout on when you weren't using it was probably your biggest battery 
drain because the watch measures heart rate constantly during a workout, but 
only every few minutes the rest of the time.
