I wish there was. I Can’t understand, why apple, decided to include it the swipe gestures, on Ipads, that still have a home button.

But, if you touch the screen first so VoiceOver speaks, you can avoid doing that gesture. You have to start your slide/swipe, off the part of the screen that responds with VoiceOver.
